A very wet day on the Sunshine Coast - 7th Jan

Today we woke up to rain. Mike looked up the 7 day forecast and it didn't look great ...we were looking at 80mm of rain today but slightly better tomorrow.

We had breakfast and then with a break in the weather drove down to Noosaville to take a walk along the river. We fortunately managed to get the obligatory family photo in front of the Giant Pelican and book ourselves on a trip the next day to Fraser Island before the heavens opened and it tipped it down. Tipped is a light word ….the rainfall was monsoonal. There were many shelters between us and the car so we managed to make it back without getting too wet. It was however quite noticeable the size of puddles when we got back compared to going.

See how high the water was
It's behind you !!
Noosa river
Lots of rain
We headed to a cafe with free wifi for coffee (flat white and latte for us) to warm up and check emails.

After lunch we did what you do when it rains ...we went to the cinema in Maroochydore to watch The King's Speech. This was a fantastic film and I can definitely see why Colin Firth won the Golden Globe for best actor.

After this we headed back for dinner and bed.
